Awakening Yoga Academy’s 200 hour Foundational training course focuses on the Vinyasa pillar of our practice system and is the first step in learning how to teach group yoga classes with confidence and clarity.

In this Yoga Alliance RYT approved education course, you will spend time in practical, theoretical, and exploratory modules designed to offer a diverse set of learning approaches for all students. Whether it’s fully online or in one of our in-person intensives, this learning program offers a deep dive into the what, how, and big why’s behind the vinyasa practice.

Yes! This program is full of global participants and you may attend from anywhere in the world. Reliable internet access is required to access the course but you may view all the content at your pace and during the times that work for you.

As of January 1, 2025 all new students will have 1 year to complete their courses. Extensions are available with a fee for continued access to the learning materials. Please email us for more information on these options.

People join teacher trainings for many different reasons and a deep interest in learning more about the practice itself can be one. We design all of our YTT courses to help you become a knowledgeable, confident, and compelling teacher & practitioner.
While you don't have to intend on teaching, there will be teaching-specific requirements and exercises that we expect you to engage thoughtfully with throughout the course.

We always recommend that you have a consistent pre-existing yoga practice and a deep sense of curiosity and passion for the practice before joining a teacher training course.
You should be familiar with Patrick & Carling’s classes, teaching style, the Awakening Yoga method and have spent time practicing with AY teachers either online or in person.

Yes, Awakening Yoga Academy is a RYS 200/300 and upon completion you will be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as a 200 hr Registered Yoga Teacher.
Registering with Yoga Alliance is NOT required to teach yoga and is not a governing body or a union.
We work with them as a fully accredited Yoga School to ensure that you have the option to register upon graduation should you chose to do so.

For in-person courses, spaces are refundable only in special instances and at the discretion of the host studios unique cancellation policies. Please reach out to the host studio where you purchased your ticket/enrollment or to our team via email with questions.
